Dusit Princess Kathmandu
Location
“An interior designer must be able to clarify his intent keeping ever in mind that decorating is not a look, it’s a point of view. “
Dusit Princess Katmandu beautifully merges Nepalese traditions with Thai hospitality. The lobby is a stunning fusion of modern and traditional elements, featuring five prayer flag-inspired color tones that reflect Nepal’s culture. These colors are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the hotel: “Amithaba” red in the lobby and elevators symbolizes life, “Amoghasiddhi” green in dining areas represents tranquility, “Ratna” white in the spa embodies learning, “Akshobhya” blue in meeting rooms, gym, ballroom, and rooftop signifies purity and healing, and “Valrocana” yellow adds joy and warmth to various spaces. Intricate Nepalese Buddhist symbols adorn the lobby columns, while mandala patterns grace artworks, celebrating the rich culture of Nepal. The columns feature engravings of the powerful “Budhiya” symbol, infusing the space with blessings and strength. The backdrop of the Nepal temple, adorned with intricate patterns, serves as a poignant reminder of the deep cultural connection shared by both guests and staff. This thoughtful design preserves Nepal’s heritage while seamlessly blending tradition with modernity.
